K04s are in!
One word... W O W ! ! ! haven't cranked the boost up yet and it already pulls smoother and easier than it ever did with the K03s. The guy that did the work is so damned good that he pulled the entire drivetrain, did all of the work, had the enigne back in the car in under 10 hrs, and did it without so much as a CEL!!! I'm going to take it easy for a thousand miles or so and let them get good and comfortable in their new home...then...I'll finish out the rest of the Stage III kit... Weeeeeeeeeee!

Congrats - I think the single most important part in getting KO4s is not which kit you choose.....
but, who installs it.
I am shocked that someone can pull an engine, replace turbos (and in my case clutch/flywheel) put it all back together and not have A SINGLE issue (no check engine lights, nothing!) - I had mine done ~6000miles ago - not one issue - not one check engine light, nothing - I'm amazed!
After all the work I've had done on the car and all of my bad experiences with various dealers, etc....this upgrade was the least painful and everything was done perfectly!!! (Thank you very much Mr. Piggie!!!!)
Enjoy your new KO4s - which fueling are you going to use?

BTW, if your K03s die on you, drop a little cash and get the K04s.
It doesn't seem like the engine is really putting forth any effort to build speed anymore...I'm sure this has all been said before...you can chalk me up to being another satisfied K04 S4 owner!

For now, I think I'm going to use the 5bar FPR and an MBC as recommended by several people.
Once I have all of the other components, I'll make that decision. I really think the OEM RS4 components will be enough for me. I'm not looking for much over 425HP. I would still like to be able to drive it on the street and be able to drive it for a while!
And yes, not one single issue. I think he had to clear a couple of codes because he unhooked the injectors when he primed the system. That's it. Fired right up and went straight to beautiful purrrrrrrrrr. It was sweet. I though I was going to cry...

I ran ABT/AMS software for KO3s for a few thousand miles.....
was using a MBC without a 5bar FPR - I don't think you need a 5bar FPR with a MBC (at least with the X chip and ABT/AMS KO3 software, I'm certain you don't need it - don't know about the other software around)....
Anyway, I had my boost set at ~15psi - the car pulled hard all the way to redline....much better than "plain" stage II+.....
Well, with a fueling kit, you get even more boost that also holds to redline - awesome power either way.

Congratulations!
I agree, that the S4 definitely feels better with K04s... not strained like the K03s at all.
I was easy on the car for ~500 miles or so before I really pushed the K04s. Love em!
