Last time I removed the trans I didn't drop the sub frame......
Would it be easier to remove the trans if the sub frame was dropped?
I have STFA and I can't seem to find a write up on dropping the sub frame.

to get the little allen bolts you leave the rear subframe bolts in and lower the front
subframe, there are 6 bolts on the front right by the motor mounts...you will also have to remove the bottom bolts on the motor mounts. Then you jack the trans up as far as you can, then you can get to the bolts. AFAIK, there is no other way to get those bottom bolts out. But anyways, as far as actually removing the trans, it might help to lower the rear of the subframe, but if you remove the trans mount altogether like I did, it shouldn't really make a difference.
