Default Lazy way to install XM Roady antenna...

The XM Roady (Satellite radio for those who don't know) comes with a magnetic antenna. I have reservations sticking this on the roof of the car, per the instructions, and had to find a location where it could see the satellite.

So I routed the antenna along the driver seat, then underneath the backseat (it removes easily), and then stuffed the wire along the trim of the back window. In the picture I have "unstuffed" the wire for better visualization.

The magnetic part of the antenna will actually stick to the metallic clampy things that are used for child car seats, and will thus provide a good a very good signal as the satellite beams its magic through the rear window. I've had it installed for two weeks now, and it has yet to fall off, even with agressive cornering and braking. I'm sure it would fly off in an accident, so I'll have to find a way of securing a bit more tightly. But this method won't scratch your roof, or leave glue residue on your dashboard or fabric...

Default Or you could remove the child seat hook...

and thread the wire underneath the rear deck pad and into the trunk. You can then screw the child seat hook back on and put the cover back.

I did this also after seeing 2K2S4's setup. It works wonderfully.

Default I tried that, but there's nothing to hold the antenna in place that way - it slides around

See 2K2S4's picture (below) for the best solution, IMO. Even at the track, my antenna doesn't budge.
