Life with the S4 from 100K miles on...
I've had this car for now 7 years and still enjoy this beast. However, I don't want a car that is going to give me very expensive problems. Therefore, I am in a dilemma as to get rid of this rig in Spring and get into something more predictable service wise. In reality, is this car any more unreliable than an A4 1.8T from 100K miles on? If so, what kind of problems besides turbos should I expect? I would appreciate feedback from those who have already gone down this road. Thanks.

should be about the same as the 1.8t...
keep up on your timing belt and fluid change intervals and you'll be fine.
The same B5 shortfalls (control arms, tie rod ends, CV joints/boots) apply to both the A4 and S4.
The only other thing I'd worry about is the S4 trans... but as long as you're not out racing it every weekend, you should be okay.

Are you running your MBC by itself or parallel?
Any idea about the likelihood of my S4 stock hoses having anymore issues from 100K on than from 0-100K miles?
