Long interstate runs and Reg unleaded.
Have to go from Houston to Nashville this week. Hours at 70mph with no real need to scream the Biturbo. Why not use 87 octane regular as I will need only about 40hp. to maintain legal speed? It is cheaper and It is OK with Audi! See your owners manual. Chris C

Not worth the savings
Hey, you won't get to your cruising speed by just pushing the car :P
You'd be saving less than $10 on the trip. Treat the car right, use the right octane, and then you won't have to worry about it.

I haven't tried it in this car, but in my older Audi, yes, it ran low-test just fine, however,
it got fewer miles-per-gallon, so any savings is lost. Also, after a few tanks of low-test, the car builds up carbon, or something, it start to run more and more poorly. This was a 1988 80q, w/knock sensors.
