Looking for confirmation on re-coding cluster, please
I have done some S'ing of TFA, and I think that I am understanding the facts correctly. I would just like to get confirmation from the experts.
I have a 2001 sedan (H-box) that I would like to install a chipped M-box ecu into. My understanding is that the only thing needed to make this work is to take the existing cluster code, and enter that under the adaptation settings for the cluster once the new (M-box) ecu is installed. Is this correct? Is that all that is necessary to successfully run an M-box ecu in a car that was originally an H-box? Is there any reason that I would want to avoid doing this? Would I be better off getting an H-box ecu and having it chipped, or is this a 6 of one, half-dozen of the other argument?
Thanks for the time and expertise.
