passed the range mark .. add a little oil , drive about 50-70 miles same thing again .. did anyone had this before ? could it be the level sensor ..i gues it would put a code out if that would be bad.
any idea ?

have had it happen on long trips>>
happened when I first drove on a long trip. Replaced with new sensor, not the sending unit. forgot the price, but it was inexpensive. Was fine until a long trip this year. I checked the oil before I got on the road and maybe the tip of the dipstick did not peoperly seat because I got the warning again. After checking the oil and firmly replacing the dipstick it went away and has not returned again. I am guessing the sensor may be near the tip of the dipstick but do not know for sure. good luck

Re: min oil level light on the cluster
Same thing happened to me on the PA pike. Stopped engine, checked the level, I had plenty of oil.
Started up and never happened again.
Had oil pressure light come on a couple of times last year. Sewickley Porche/Audi checked everything the first time. Replaced sensor. Was fine for another month and same thing happened again. This time they called AOA and got some new codes for my instrument panel. No problems since. You figure! By the way, Sewickley Porche/Audi was quite fair the second time as my car was noticably modded. Even though I was out of warranty, they picked up 75% of the costs.
