Default Mixed feelings on ordering Convenience Package. Thoughts ? (more)

I'm on the wait list for a 01 S4 Avant and wondered if the auto-dimming mirrors are worth having. - I have an A4 now with a sunroof which I'm kind of indifferent to (the sunroof, that is). I'm thinking that the $1K could be better spent elseware. Also, I'm leasing, so the resale value of a non-sunroof car is not a concern. I would appreciate any comments.

Thanks - Bob H

I chose not to opt for Convenience. No regrets.

Default the auto-dimming mirrors do come in handy at times...

usually i am not a fan of auto-dimming mirrors, but i really like the audi ones.

i find them to be most helpful when there is a car with really bright lights, high beams on, or a truck with high headlamps, behind you. The auto-dimming mirrors adjust just right to make sure that you are not blinded from behind, or distracted by such automobiles.

i'd go with the convenience package if i were you...the auto-dimming mirrors are nice, and nothing feels better than cruising down the road in your S4 on a warm summer evening, with all the windows down and the sunroom open...(sorry to build the anticipation even more!)

Default Wow. Adam's S4 has the "sunroom" option! ;)

Where'd ya fit it?

Just kidding. Just a typo, but too funny to pass up.

Default You can edit your posts if you use the new forum software.

Use this link to browse the S4 forum instead of the normal one, and you'll be using the new software wherein you can edit posts, track threads, and other cool stuff. (When's this bad boy going public, Johannes? Looks almost ready for prime time.)

Note that you'll need to re-log in, as it uses a different set of browser cookies.

Default Like the mirrors, LOVE the Homelink (more...)

I hate garage door openers hanging around on sun visors... I didn't order convenience pkg, the car my dealer found had it (as well as the other pkgs I wanted). I probably would order it.
David Bishop

Default I love the mirrors (more)

I never was satisfied with the manual dimming feature on my A4. It made everything so dark that I couldn't see other cars. The auto dimming is great because it takes out all the glare without making it so dark that you can't see the cars. The homelink is pretty handy as well. Like you I'm indifferent to the sunroof but since I have it I do use it from time to time.
