MP3 Connection to Bose system?

Re: MP3 Connection to Bose system?
I'd love to wire in an Empeg player, but I haven't found any guides to doing so. I'd probably try to find a professional installer who is familiar with the Bose system that Audi uses.

Re: MP3 Connection to Bose system?
Here is what I am planning to do:
I will be installing a port replicator in my glovebox for a Toshiba Libretto Mini laptop. Connected to the replicator will be a connection leading to a 7.1" touch screen in the drivers visor. I will connect the audio from the laptop into the BOSE unit (I don't know the details yet, but it can be done)... The only other option for mounting is to use a smaller 5" screen and mount it behind the wiper control arm to the upper left of the head unit. the end result will be a MP3 player that I can take with me wherever I go. The libretto is very small and somewaht powerful (233 mhz). Also, I will be adding a Ricochet Modem so that I can have internet access.
I have been mapping this out for a while but will not be actually getting started on the project until may (at the earliest). My new custom plates will read "MP3DJ" (I own mp3dj.com/net)
I can't wait to get it done, the hard part has been tracking down a source for the touch screen. I will definitely keep you all filled in as I begin to gather pieces to the puzzle.
Definitive Audio in Bellevue will be doing most of the custom work.

PS the link below is a sneak peak at my new mp3 search engine on MP3DJ.com (IE only)

MP3DJ.com beta search engine

Re: MP3 Connection to Bose system?
I'll have a more concrete answer after I get my S4 (hopefully monday), but what I'm planning on doing is splicing into the audio feed from the CD changer, that way I keep all of the stock head unit features, and only have to select the CD changer to use the empeg, pictures and instructions soon if it works...
