Default Was my S4 ever chipped?.. how can I tell.....

I bought my S4 debadged and with M3 mirrors .. But in addition to that the BOSE doesn't show up on the stereo when turned on, and just some little things point me towards thinking it was chipped at some point. Anyone know a way to tell? .. I guess it doesnt really matter because what's done is done, but maybe I can have some proof for the dealers in case anything ever does happen to my non-chipped S4.

Default look at the ECU box screws - do they look like they were used often? Take off 4 screws, leave the

rear screw alone, pry the box open, use a flashlight and see if the top of the ECU is scratched - right where this black spring/clip thingie is. If ecu was removed a few times - there will be small scratches there

Default

Just out of curiosity -- anyone ever try to buff out those little scratches on the ECU?

Default From those circumstances, I would assume that it was chipped.

Why would someone "DeBose" their S4, replace mirrors, debadge it, and not go with a chip?

I'm guessing that there was an exhaust on there.....take a look under and see if the exhaust looks like it's been on/off/on

Also those ECU screws are a dead give away.

Default Wait, no -- not talking about the screws -- I am talking about the scratches on the ECU itself.

If I ever decide to chip -- I want to make sure I can be very stealthy about it.
