Default My S4, Jetta VR6, and a BMW 323...

I was getting ready to get on Rt. 22(PA). There was a Jetta behind me and a BMW already on the road. The little baby Bimmer decides he doesn't want to let me out so I floored it. Meanwhile the Jetta with his Cantalope sided muffler goes by the Bimmer and catches up to me.

The Jetta guy was all over the place trying to get by me. Going back and forth to each lane. He finally got in the other lane and I blew by him. I just love seeing wimpy cars trying to run with the big dogs. I guess the Jetta thought the muffler would help him enough to keep up with me.

I think the Bimmer eventually gave up after both of us took off. He was interested at first then gave up. I racing sometimes, but you just have to prove to people like that that their car sucks and nothing could help them to beat us S's. Damn glad I have my Audi. My life would just not be the same. ~

Default Watch it buddy! |-\

My other car is a Jetta VR6.

I'd sure hope that the S4 can be faster than the VR6, but I sure as hell get more viceral enjoyment out of the VR6 than the S4.

Default Be careful messing with VR6 VWs in PA. There's a lot of turbocharging going on.

For the price of downpipes, exhaust and a chip....I can make my VR6 destroy an S4 in acceleration from a roll. Plans are in the works as we speak.

Default Well how strong are VR6s anyway? (more)

Just curious, as I have never extensively driven a VR6.

On the way to Waterfest, I hooked up with a small caravan of 3 GTIs and was pleasantly surprised at how much scoot those things have. They were not able to walk away from me, but at times, when I was just following them (last in a line of 4 cars), I would have to get into the throttle quite a bit if I was not paying attention to when they floored it. Considering I have over 100hp on them, I'd be pissed if they were able to walk away from me.

Default They run good for what they are....but I've noticed alot of them putting turbo

and superchargers on their cars lately. They have me plotting to put a turbo on my Corrado VR6. With a turbo, exhaust and 7-8psi (240-260whp easy), they'll run mid 13s (no traction out the hole) @ 105 or better. There's some guy at Waterfest ran a 12.2 @ 118 in a 98 VR6 Jetta!!!

I'm planning on running 13psi...should be around 330-350 at the wheels. I just want to hit 113mph in the 1/4...that's all I want. A friend in Canada on 10psi of boost (stock compression) ran a 13.2 @ 113mph. That's all I want out of that car...just enough to make it fun on my daily commute. ;-p

Stock they are low 15sec cars for the most part. Some are a little quicker, others are slower. Their alot of fun but expensive to modify. Most cost effective way to add power is the go force induction on them.
