Default my seat rocks like a ****...thinks its time to come up with a solutuion

My seat is rocking really bad and its time to reslove the matter. I have the facility and plastic stock to machine the bushings if that is in fact what the issue is. Before I diving into this it would be nice to see pics of the parts. If I do come up with a solution I would have no problem making bushing for anyone who wants them.

Default I'd be very interested, but don't know what is the actual cause of the rocking issue.

Audi always claims it is the frame rail, but many claim the rocking returns after having their frame rails replaced.

On my car the rocking stops if the seat is adjusted all the way back...not bad for tall people, but a PITA for anyone shorter.

Would definitely be interesting if someone could come up with a good fix.

Default What part is rocking?

If it's the lower frame in the rails, then there's guides that can be replaced. If it's internal in the lower frame, it's the shafts/gears that raise/lower the front & rear of the lower frame. The backrest, then it's in the adjustment of that(in the lower frame). Basically, disassemble the lower frame & find a solution for all things ....loose. Good luck.

Default after reading past post..

it seems as though the problem is in the bushing in the lower frame rail...I maybe wrong(this is what i have interpreted from the forum) but if this is it seems like a straight foward fix.

Default You can get just new OEM guide pieces, install them on the seat.....

and with some body tools, ( gently ) hammer down the rails they slide in.
