Default My six speed is now a four speed. :-/

The car should be arriving at the dealer any minute now via a flat bed tow truck. First and second gears appear to be gone because I can't get it into either gear. Yeah. The car is already on it's second tranny as the original owner had a new one installed back in 12/01. Let's hope the third time is a charm. Jeez. I've always had the classic 2nd and 3rd gear synchro issues so now I guess something has finally failed. I'm not too upset since the car is still under warranty.

Default Did you lose them after a hard shift?

Also, do you have a SS?

Sounds familiar. These boxes seems to like a light touch. Maybe some flowers....

Thats true of most German transmissions... if you have to use any effort, you're shifting too fast.

Default It's easy to feel - if you have any resistance, either wait, or backoff and try again.

If you read the claims in Europe, there aren't nearly as many trannys having issues on the 2.7T platform overall (S4/A6/AR/RS4).

Default Europeans tend to know better how to shift "right".

Just because it goes into gear doesn't mean its being shifted right...
