Default But I am able to hold first without the tip chip, again so long as its steady throttle

which does not require WOT, and not against the redline.

The Tip Chip has no effect on that whatsoever. It's a Vag issue.

Default I agree, but he is under the impression you can hold first. Period. Yes, you

can the way you describe, but IMHO that's not a hold. With a Tip-Chip you can actually hold 1st at any "load". :-)

Default True, you cannot stay in first with no throttle input, at least once you reach 5mph or something

But you can sorta "hold" it, just not in the most ideal and wanted fashion.

Default ??? With a Tip-Chip and having 00032 code, you can hold 1st. Now

I'm starting to get confused.

Default I've just been reading suggestions to recode to sport mode but not sure of the benefits...

After getting chipped, my car gear hunts like crazy so I thought either "sport" mode or tip chip would help. Apparently I'm already in "sport" mode so there goes that theory.

Thanks for the help.

Tip Chip is the only real solution to gear hunting.

Default Does your car "hunt" in all gears, or just 4th & 5th? If it's just the 4th & 5th you

can get used to it and figure out when it actually starts to "hunt". Mine does it when more then 10psi is requested in 5th, it will then drop to fourth and go nutty. However, if I'm in 5th and over 100mph and request more than 10psi it will NOT "hunt", it will stay in 5th all the way to 16psi and redline. It's a pain, but I guess a compromise for the money saved for buying a Tip. I wish I was more patient when I was looking for this car and got a 6 speed. I am really regretting it for many reasons. The main one is obviously wanting Stage III and not having to worry about my tranny.
