Default NASA, can I ask why and how you went from 2000 tip to 2001 6speed?

I'm thinking about trading in my leased 2000 S4 Tip to purchase a 2001 S4 6 Speed. What do you think? I'm thinking I might enjoy the 6 speed more now since my commute isn't as bad as it used to be...

Default oooh as painful as it is I'll answer...

basically I wanted a manual because I also wasn't commuting any more and I was getting rusty between races not having a manual.

I traded in my tip with 8000 miles and ended up upside down about $1800...it's a bit foggy tonight...my TOTAL out of pocket was $3500 including $1000 for the first payment (2-year lease + tax). I got the car at MSRP of $41,900.

Though I'd do it again under the same circumstances (who knew I was trading-in on a lemon?)...I just got a dud car unfortunately.

Default Pete, I totally feel for your situation. BTDT, and still nervous as ever about potential failures.

But I still love the car. Go figure.......

Default the maddening thing is (and you already know this)...

is that I've had the car THREE MONTHS and its been in the shop ONE MONTH.

So what do I do? I get to hire a lawyer and prepare a frickin Lemon Law case at a time when I have no money and no car!

AoA were total ****** with my FIRST turbo replacement but I'm going to get a piece of flesh on Monday morning...though it's a royal pain in the ***, they ARE going to give me a new car...I'm not paying good money to have the fricking car in the shop all the time.

This fiasco has already cost me the time and hassle and mileage of FIVE trips to different dealers and rent-a-cars...time not working etc. It just isnt funny any more!

Default I know, I know. And I 'm stuck with mine. I'm not sure what I'll do either.

I might actually get another, but if something better comes along, I'll get that.

Default yea, I'm about ready to jump ship...

but to what? Still isnt anything as fun as the S4 in its class ooooh but another couple of years muhahahaha.

I just want AoA to realize that its not okay to have my car in the shop for 30 days and the law is on my side. I expect a major *** kissing and am going to be REALLY pissed if I dont get one.

Default Sounds like the same reason for me...

I used to sit in stop and go traffic for an hour everyday to commute across Dumbarton bridge. Now, with my commute cut to 25 minutes with NO traffic, I feel like I could get more out of the car if I had a manual... Also, I can't deduct my lease payments anymore so I'm thinking it would be better to buy outright.

Looks like I'll be upside down around $3K. Offset that with the fact that I need new tires, I figure it is really $2K. I originally paid $1.5K over MSRP so that was my down payment. That was lost the day I drove the car off the lot.
I'm going to try to work out the numbers to see if it is worth paying the upside down $3K.

Anyone want to buy a Brilliant Black 2000 Tip?

BTW, sorry to hear about your problems!!! I'm sure everything will work out.

Default I have a commute like your old one, and traded up anyway.

No regrets. 6-speed is worth the hassle on bad traffic days.
