Need advice on buying New S4
Almost pulled the trigger today and bought a new S4, didn't because I'm concerned about buying an '02 and losing a ton of $$ when the new ones pop up based on the new A4 body style....any advice/feedback?

Go ahead and take the plunge; it's definitely worth it!
By the time the next one comes out, you would have put enough miles on your car to offset the "previous model" devaluation, and you would have a permanent slap-me-silly grin etched on your face...

It'll be another year + before the S4 shows up in NA. If deminished market value...
is your issue, buy a used one - there's a lot out there in the (high $20's to low $30's). It already has been depreciated and more then likely will not drop as far percentage wise over the next couple of years - as any car will do from new.
And in a couple of more years you can move up to the new S4 - which if any of these engine/body rumors are true - should be a real head turner and an M3 eater...
Good luck

Props? Leave it alone?
I throughly disagree, I bet there are plenty of people who thrill in the knowledge that the S4 is the anti-M3...I'm one. And you can be sure the new S4 will up the ante - and eat the M3 for lunch (which is more then a perfomance statement - it's an overall product statement).
There are many Porschephiles and Audiphiles that have a ton of respect for the Bimmer brand - but also choose not to own a BMW - as great a handling car that it is. I'm still miffed that BMW stuffed an M5 engine into the M3 to steal the GT championship this year, and dropped out of ALMS because they couldn't compete against the R8s.
My major issue is the demo BMW attracts. That plus I think Quattro is the *****. And it is this competitive inter-brand spirit that makes this product fight so thrilling. A better M3 means a better S4.
Props, please...

Now you start to realize my dilemma....
....do I buy the S4 now and keep it for 4 years, knowing I will WANT a new S4 the day they come out but probably be so upside down I can't for a year or so....or should I hold off until the new ones come out...keep up the daily grind in my SUV and take my moments of pleasure in the TT until I can buy the S4 (aka M3 eater....I sure hope so!!!).
