need help diagnosing problem
my maf is bad and im waiting for a new one after some delays. so ive been driving my car w/o a maf and i seem to have some sort of boost / turbo/ bpv issue. i k now the car will be running a bit lean without the maf hooked up but when i get on the gas the turbos seem to spool but they dont seem to be building up any boost liek a possible leak. i am a my 2000 stock engine wise. i was unsure if it wsa a bad bpv so i have a single dahlback valve that i switched back and forth between the possible bad stocks bpvs and it hasnt helped. with my throttle the turbos spool beyond what they ever have then when i release throttle they jsut seem to taper the whine down and it doesnt sound liek a bpv is releasing even though they are both fine. i pulled codes when it first went bad and all i got was a maf code. any help is apreciated.

imo, it's probably still the maf.
just wait and see if switching the maf fixes the problem. but until then, try to lighten up on the throttle.
fwiw, i'm going through the exact same thing right now and have the same symptoms.

go plug your MAF back in...
if your car starts and immediately dies, you have a huge fvckin' leak. Take it somewhere asap b/c you don't want to drive it like that.
If you drive in the rain or hit a puddle and some of that water gets sucked up in the intake track, say bye bye.
