need help here...blown turbos?...kinda long(m)
hi all, need some help around, im taking my car tomorrow to the house, because i think is something bad with the turbos, when i launch the car, normally it used to go .7 bar(ist it the normal pressure?),now it only goes to .3 and very few times .4, when i shift i heard whisle sound almost like a blow off sound, on normal driving conditions the engine sounds normal...and i think speed feels normal...i had some rolls with my friends(a porsche 911 tip and a 330 dinnan3) and the car was ok in my opinion,i mean the porsche beated me up, but at least it was not that embarrasing, the dinnan is more a drivers race. however my friend frank tells me that the boost is not normal, its low...
so what u guys think? could it be the gauge that is bad?
the car is going to get oil changed could it be that?
i read in the searches that it could be the bypass more than the turbos, my car is stock...a little guide so i know what to deal tomorow at the dealership!
thanks all

Sounds like a boost leak, probably an IC hose or Throttle Body Boot. Turbo's
are probably fine, just be careful, drive it easy, with a large boost leak like you have, it's easy to overboost the turbos and KABOOM.
Other things to check include F-Hose and Bypass Valves ..

Boost leaks are fairly common on these cars, since your
car is stock, I would look at the Throttle Body Boot first, this is a fairly inexpensive part you can replace yourself. I'm sure the boot is probably around $50, dealer would hit you with an hour of labor @ maybe $90/hr (give or take).
If the IC hose popped off, all you need to do is reattach it and torque it down. Dealer would probably hit you for an hour here also.
Bypass valves are about $60 for a pair, dealer would hit you for an hour on this also.
F-Hose is about $20 or so, dealer would hit you with an hour on this also.
Maybe someone on here would be willing to lend you a hand. Where are you located ?
Dealer may also hit you up with another charge just to look your car over..

If your motivated and have access to a air compressor, you can
build a pressure tester which would help you isolate the leak. Check out the .pdf file from AWE website to build a pressure tester, or you can order one directly from them.

http://www.awe-tuning.com/media/pdf/27t_pressure_tester.pdf</a
