Default Need help! Shocks or what?

I've got H&R springs with bilstein shocks. In the past few weeks my car seems to have dropped much lower and I'm scraping much more than I did, say 4 months ago. Now when i'm driving on the streets and go over uneven pavement, pot holes or bumps the car feels unsave. Right when I hit a bumb or pothole, the car feels like its shaking left and right like it might get out of control. Has anyone had this happen? Anyone have an idea what what is wrong here?

Default My guess is you'll spot the problem as soon as you take the time to look for it.

Oil all over shock body: Blown shock
Cracked spring: Cracked spring (doh)
Missing bolts: Bolts missing

Default pull the front wheels off... something will probably stand out like a sore thumb

i'm putting my money on blown front shock... if thats the case, you cant miss it... it will probably be a mess.

Default blown shock really shouldn't drop your car. the height is spring and perch dependant. maybe

your spring perch is broken, some bolt is gone/loose, or (i would be surprised) broken spring.

Default A bilstein will slightly affect the ride height

It's got a very high pressure gas in it. As a result the shock itself adds a few pounds/in to the overall spring rate which will affect the ride height.
