Need help with tire issues: What's my best option under these circumstances......
I cut a left turn too sharp and clipped the median pretty well. Anyway, blew the front sidewall out and got the rim pretty bad. Rear tire bubbled the sidewall, but rim's ok. Both driver side.
Tires were going to be junked in Oct/Nov when I swapped back to my winters. Planned on new tires/rims next spring for summer setup and keep winters on the stocks.
Spare is brand new summer Pirelli (not matching my P-Zeros).
Problem is I can't afford whole new rim/tire setup for rest of summer/fall.
Should I swap to my Pilot Alpins early or get a match to my spare and a cheap used tire for my spare (or even the bubbled P-Zero nero as emergency spare). Or, should I get 2 matching used that have roughly same tread depth (or overall DIA)? If I match the spare Pirelli, should I get them shaved to match the P-Zeros? Again, swapping out in Octoberish.
I'm driving my off-road rig right now, but it's not really comfortable as a dd.
TIA
