Need some help guys. I went and test drove this A6 2.7T that was for sale real cheap. It sounds
like a turbo has blown. It makes a loud sound when pushing the gas, passenger side of car, has very low power, and it even makes the noise in neutral if I punch the gas. Doesn't really sound like a dentist drill though, little more drone to it. Only code is a bad O2 on the same side. Will logging boost confirm it is a bad turbo? Any other way to verify? I'm thinking of buying it for my wife.

could be a clogged cat. although I never hear of that on our motors...
a friend's turbo car did that, car sounded strange, loss of power, killed the O2 on that side. It also clogged the PCV and mucked up the whole engine, oil was all kinds of nasty after normal mileage, etc.
Just a thought.... if I were even remotely interested I would take it to a good shop, maybe even the dealer, to have it looked over.
