Default Need Tech Help on ECU

Is it possible to throw a DTC 17965 with a GIAC ECU and NOT the stock ECU.

I validated the boots and BPV are all good and working. Checked all hoses and N75 connection. Car feels like crap.

So can I (all of a sudden) have a faulty GIAC ECU after using it (uneventfully) for a full year. I did swap it once right before all these problems.

Default 17965 is usually a leak somewhere

did you check the throttle body boot really well ? You'd have to take it off...It is possible that you have a leak at the higher boost pressure created by the GIAC chip and not when you run stock pressure.

Default Checked all, read all posts here too

I am using the AMS TBB, Bailey BPV, removed, checked, pressureized, rechecked, used new Oettinger clamps, and still having problems.

Also checked other hoses and removed bottom pan to look at IC hoses. Nada.

This really sucks since I had the car running great until I took it to the dealer.

Default Re: Checked all, read all posts here too

Just curious if a chipped ECU can cause this versus the stock one.

Default the only way I could see the GIAC doing that is if there is actually a leak at higher pressures

that isn't present at the lower stock boost pressure...if you took off the tbb and everything though you'd probably have seen even a small tear. Though it probably won't be much help there is a TSB for this, linked below (it's what you already did)

TSB
