Hey guys, I'm new to both Audi and the S4, coming from a Jeep Wrangler. I just bought it today, it's a 2002 S4 with a 6-speed manual. It's silver, with the S4 wheels painted matte black. 160,000 miles on it, which I know is high but the previous 2 owners took very good care of it. I'll post pics tomorrow. I do have a couple questions about the vehicle. I noticed when I got home, after driving for about 35 minutes, the engine seemed really hot. There was a interesting smell, but it went away after about 3 minutes. Is that normal with these? Also, the oil light came on after driving up 12 floors in my condo, but I checked the oil and it looked good. The car ran great, just wasn't sure what these two things could be. Other than that, I look forward to meeting yall and getting to know this kickass car!

Red. It's done it twice in 3 days going up 12 floors in a parking garage. I checked the dipstick and it looked normal. The oil is the proper color as well, a light amber color. There is an oil leak, looks like from the passenger side, so could that be the culprit?

RED IS BAD! does it only happen in the parking garage on an incline? Is th eengine noisy at all at idle? I had read light after driving for 10 to 20 minutes. turned out to be a bad oring on the oil pickup, easy fix.

well I have a guy that's going to fix everything this coming week. Unfortunately, the previous owner did not tell me everything that was needed on it. I'm having the control arms and bushings replaced, the timing belt, water pump, fan, header gasket seal and oil changed on it on Monday... it's definitely not cheap but it was not in the best shape. The oil light only came on when I would go up from floor to floor, and it looks like it was a sensor.
