Finally! - A VW/Audi Diagnostic tool for your PalmOS Powered Device!!

ProDiag is Shade Tree Software's primary product. It is a VAG 1551/2 compatible vehicle diagnostic tool for VWs, Audis, Seats and Skodas. ProDiag let's you do everything you can do with a VAG 1551/2.

These tasks include, but are not limited to:
-Check your vehicle for Diagnostic Trouble Codes (also known as DTCs or Faults)
-Clear DTCs
-Monitor your engine's (as well as other control units) performance in real-time
-Re-calibrate your vehicle's "Basic Settings"
-Perform output tests
-Test and modify adaptation values
-Code a controller
-Enter the "Automatic Test Sequence" and check every control unit for DTCs
-Create a custom vehicle definition tailored to your specific car
-Communicate with newer vehicles that require dual data line capability. (Sometimes referred to as dual K-line or dual OBD-II).

If you are a professional mechanic, a home mechanic or just an enthusiast that wants another gadget, ProDiag is a powerful, yet affordable tool. With new PalmOS devices costing near $100 you can afford to purchase ProDiag and a PDA to use as a dedicated tool. It is small enough that you can keep it where you need it - like your tool box or glove compartment.

Even if your shop has an official VAG 1551/2, it is probably in high demand and not always available when you've got a job to complete. With ProDiag, you can buy your own diagnostic tool and never wait on somebody else again.

ProDiag provides other features not found in the VAG 1551/2. For example, wouldn't it be nice to bring your DTC list with you when you need to check the manual, rather than write down the codes or try to remember them? With ProDiag, you can save your DTCs as a memo and bring them with you when you leave the vehicle to check the manual. You can also transfer them to your computer and store them as part of your customer's record.

You can also log measuring value blocks as you monitor them in real-time. It is then a simple matter of HotSyncing your PDA to your computer to use Excel or some other spread sheet to graph your test runs.

A full "Automatic Test Sequence" can take a long time to complete as it checks controllers not found in your vehicle. With ProDiag, you can select your specific vehicle and the test sequence will only connect to those controllers found in your vehicle, saving you valuable time.

Requirements

-PalmOS device with OS version 3.0 or greater with approximately
310kB of available space. ProDiag supports Palm, Sony and Handspring
PDAs. Click here for a list of supported devices
-Serial cable for your PDA
-HotSync or similar method for loading ProDiag on your PDA
-VAS 5051/2 OBD-II to 2x2 connector if you wish to connect to pre-96
vehicles (shown below)

Limitations
-ProDiag does not yet run on the new ARM based PalmOS PDAs. With
recent changes it is possible ProDiag will now run on ARM based PDAs,
but it is untested. We do not currently recommend using ARM based PDAs,
such as the Palm Tungsten.
-ProDiag requires a serial interface. USB only PDAs, like the Zire,
are not yet supported.

What's Included
-Cost: $249
-ProDiag application
-ProDiag manual
-Serial to OBD-II adapter
-Activation keys for one PalmOS device

Nice. How does it compare to VAG-COM? Can you log data?

Default From what I understand, it is Palm that needs to update their software

Something about the ARM serial device handling is broken from what I understand.

So its kind of a ported Vag-Com to Palm, cool. Does it do "everything" Vag-Com does?
