Default NJ insurance for S4 (long)

I've recently moved to NJ and bought an S4. I'm temporarily covered by my insurance company (American Family) back in WI (they are still covering my old car) but they will not issue me a new policy because they are not licensed in NJ. So I've been looking around, but I have not been able to find a place that will give me a price quote! A lot of companies don't cover NJ and the ones that do seem to require that you fill out forms and send them in before they will quote anything. People have recommended New Jersey Manufacturer's Insurance to me, so I have applied for that, but I hear they are VERY hard to get into and I won't hear back from them for a couple weeks apparently. I have a perfect driving record and the company I work for qualifies me for NJM so hopefully I'll get it, but if I don't I need alternatives. A couple friends of mine (who were rejected by NJM for having tickets) have Liberty Mutual so I contacted them, but again, I have to wait for them to send me forms. What is the deal with car insurance in this state? What insurance companies do you all have that are NJ residents with S4's? What types of coverages do you carry and what does it cost you? Am I going to get hosed being a single male 28yrs old? NEED YOUR ADVICE, PLEASE!!!

Default Good trade. Clinton joke inside

Bill climbs down off AirForce on with a pig under each arm. The Sergent(SP) at arms greets him and says nice pigs sir. Bill replies son, these aren't just pigs, they are the finest Arkansas razor back's money can buy, I got one for Hillary and one for Chelsea. The Sergent replies good trade sir!

Yeah, a friend of mine once said "if you are going to marry your girlfriend you cannot get the car, but if you get the car you can always get another girlfriend."

Default NJ insurance (short version)

This is my personal understanding of the NJ insurance market:

Loss costs soared, Insurance Bureau wouldn't approve rate filings by insurers because the increases were too much, some (many) insurers bailed from the state, then Insurance Bureau makes it difficult for remaining insurers to exit NJ. Now the remaining insurers don't want to take on any more policyholders because the rates are inadequate because the Insurance Bureau won't approve significant rate increases. To keep from gaining more business in NJ, the reamining insurers make it as difficult as possible (either through underwriting criteria and/or paperwork) for a customer to become a policyholder.

The opinions stated above may not be those of my employer and are my own.

Default I have NJ-Re insurance a subsidiary of NJM, but

as far as paperwork, unfortunately, there is no other way in this state to cut through all the legality of the paperwork. Although, I think you should be able to get a quote instantly over the phone. Otherwise, you take a number like everybody else...heck, why do you think our turnpike and garden state parkways are numbered

Default Liberty Mutual gave me the best rates...though I think I applied over the phone.

They have local offices, but you can try the 800 number 800-526-1547.
