yesterday and did a once over on the car today. Seeing what was upgraded and what needs to be...So far everything seems alright, changed oil (didn't look bad)with MB1 0W-40, air filter (dry rotted, must have been the original-42K)swapped with a K&N, and changed the fuel filter (same problem as previous post-mad dirty). Drove after maint. and a world of difference. A little something I'm concerned about, a slight wisling noise from d-side turbo are when car is first started when everything is cold, anything to worry about? I plan on upgradng all the usual blunders before I start the modding process. I think I'm going to stick with a APR stage II, H&R coilovers, and some new wheels l(like to go with something black with a crome lip and chrome center cap) any suggestions? I'd like to stop there, but things always change. Any suggestions would be great, thanks all. Pictures of car on the next post. Any VA., Hampton Roads area S4 owners out there? Thanks Dave B.

Better pic....
Aside from being gay looking, they are the new Hyperboost DV's. They are a good valve, along the lines of the Forge and Bailey valves. No need to upgrade them, besides using spraypaint to make them more manageable to look at

Can't tell what brand/type those are.......
....but its very easy to check them for leaks. Simply remove them both, compress the piston with a finger,(or a non-sharp slim tool like the handle end of a screwdriver). Once the piston is completely compressed, place a finger tightly where the vacuum hose would connect and remove the finger/screwdriver. If the piston holds in place (compressed) the BPV is not leaking. However, if the piston snaps back into the closed position.....its toast.
Another thing to be careful of, is that K&N air filter. When cleaning/oiling, make sure the filter is completely dry before driving the car. The oil used in aftermarket filters (if used improperly, i.e over saturating) is known to shorten the lifespan on the S4's Mass Airflow Sensor (MAF)considerably.

I've been very happy with them. Had them for about 4 years, and up until very recently....
....they were problem free (both failed on me about a month ago). But since they come with a lifetime guarantee, I sent them back to AWE (whom I purchased them from) for replacement. They sent me the new version right away.
