The NY/NJ thieves need to be executed.
This is ridiculous. I can't believe Drew got his car stolen, this is ****ing b.s. Audi of America better fix this situation or there'll be some class-action law suits going down. This is ****ing bull.
Hopefully Drew will get his car back... but it isn't the same. I don't feel the same in my car anymore, god knows what those *******s did in my car while it was in their posession.
I'd like to catch these bitches in the act and see that there asses get a nice rapping with a 10 foot long bamboo stick.

I haven't followed the whole theft, security devices thread but..
In my other cars if you opened the door without the key the alarm would sound. Meaning if the car was locked up, and they reached into a window and unlocked or opened the door, the alarm would sound. IS this how the alarm is suppose to work on the audis, or not?
If they put a hole in the door and unlocked the pass side lock, the alarm in a modern day car would go off as the car door was opened without a remote or key..
Can someone fill me in here, is this really a flaw in the alarm design or is this not the funcionality in the first place?

I understand aftermarket alarms void the warrenty, that is wrong.
Thieves know EXACTLY what they will encounter in an S4, as a result.
Allowing alternate alarms without warrenty problems would help all of us, even if we do not change alarms, it would add uncertianly to a thief's life!

True.....A kill switch is truely what's needed. They can always tow your car away,
but atleast a kill switch will keep the common joy rider/theif from driving off with your car.

AoA needs to do nothing and they won't. YOU need to do something
Sorry, Audi is not the only car that is really easy to steal. If you don't want your car stolen take preventive measures and get an upgraded alarm/kill switch/lo jack etc. It kills me to see people still griping about audiworld members cars getting stolen and they full well know they are in danger in the NY NJ area.
I do feel for your friend, but at this rate, if anyone does not have upgraded theft protection and they read Audiworld, and are in NY NJ, they are asking for it....

Sounds reasonable to me....
The Limited New Vehicle Warranty does not cover damage or malfunctions which are the result of...
So install the alarm/etc correctly and you won't have issues.

They have indeed fixed the problem in the new A4's....
But in our S4's, it is our problem. I have never heard of an Audi dealer voiding a warranty because of an alarm, and my dealer INSTALLED my at no cost. I just paid for parts.
