I noticed what looks like some oil residue on the black hose that comes off the driver side turbo. The turbo itself doesn't appear to be leaking neither do the oil lines near it, which is why I'm confused as to where it's comming from. Has anyone experienced anything like this? Could it be from a leaky valve cover gasket etc. that gets blown onto there?

removing engine for turbo replacement and was really suprised as to the amount of leakage. All over both intercoolers and hoses. I looked all over just like you--and found that the leaks are coming from the valve covers. gheesh------ something else to fix.
