Oil seal at rear of transaxle is leaking. Dealer says Milltek exhaust is to blame because
"the exhaust is 3" pipe, and this puts it 1.75 inches closer to the seal, and also puts off quite a bit more heat than stock causing the seal to fail". Lame.
First off, stock exhaust is about 2.25 diameter. The Milltek is 3". This puts the exhaust 3/8 of an inch closer to the seal.
Second, wouldn't it stand to reason that if an exhaust is less restrictive, if anything it would run cooler?
There's nothing worse than being bull****ted.

Actually, the stock exhaust is 2.5" after the two pipes merge and...
your dealer is on crack if he thinks the exhaust had anything to do with an oil leak in the transmission.

I think you could also make the case that the larger surface area of the pipes would dissipate...
more heat prior to arriving at that point, and therefor effectively reduce the heating of the seal.

That seems kinda messed up...read
Is it burning off on the cats? If that is the case it sounds like what I JUST had fixed with my UUC VM3 on there. My dealer didn't give me any problems. They thought it was my prop seal at first and then it ended up being a different tranny seal. Hope this helps...i have my paperwork if you need it.
