Oil Smell/Leak? Cam Tensioner Seals. Where do you get the tool?
I have had a burning oil smell and what appears a valve cover or cam seals, on the passenger side.
I have purchased both valve cover gaskets and all four cam seals and plan do do the work myself.
Hard hard are these to do and can they be installed without removing the motor from the car?

Valve cover gaskets are EASY to do. Cam seals are tougher (and probably not leaking).
Most commonly its the valve cover seals and tensioner gaskets (which are a bit tougher to do since you have to lift the tensioner, but not too hard).

When my passenger side cam tensioner seal was leaking ...
the oil was running down the back of the head and on to the exhaust. There is a good right up on how to replace the seal. You will need the tool to compress the tensioner. The passenger side is easier than the driver's side.
