I get a sneaking suspicion it's note the WHOLE story though...
Problem is the "story" changed between 9 am and 10 am PST -- probably because someone "advised" him to change it.
I think there's more to go on than the post states, which may or may not be related to the problem, but which is hidden while investigations take place. Hrmmm...

Here's what my service manager said about exhausts...(more)
I have a stock '01 S4 6-spd - the service manager told me that really the only
thing that would void my warranty was new software - I have an appointment
this friday for them to install my forge-miltek exhaust - I specifically asked the service manager if this would void my warranty, and he said, "NO, the only thing that will void your warranty is new software (aka, chip)" - the dealer also installed my UUC shift kit - same deal - it wouldn't affect my warranty.
