is leaking and I have confirmed that there is a fluid filled rubber bladder in the bottom of the can just like my original mounts.

Looks like I'll be doing this job again and pulling the mounts to replace them.

Sure wish they were solid like I was told.

FYI, still waiting on a call from Avon Rubber in England to confirm that 8D0 199 379 AD is the right RS4 part number and that it IS fluid filled.

Default Have you ever driven a car with solid engine mounts? They vibrate the car like crazy.

I can't imagine an RS4 has solid engine mounts.

Default The RS4 mounts were about the same price as the stock ones when I got them...

Thats why I replaced my leaking stock mounts with RS4 ones. Now one of my RS4 ones is leaking so I don't know that they are any better.

Default Timing would likely be in the crapper with solid mounts(edited)

Solid meaning metal/metal in my camp. Rubber is still isolated.

Default I know I've read posts were people said the Stasis/Design-It rubber mounts didn't negatively impact

their timing.

Default That's fiction, not fact.

The fact is that of the guys I know running solid mounts (including myself) only one, silverbullet, had any trouble with knock. It's safe to say that with the amount of custom fabrication on that car (the custom flaming tie-down "torque strap") that it could have been one of many things causing his knock problem.

Successful 2.7T solid motor mount users:

Blacker
Champion
Red/White/Blue Grand Am car
Hartmann
Myself

? Bullocks ?
? Simpply ?
