Default Ok...I'm pissed....reclamation water used in sprinklers at work..damaged car finish

I got these watermarks from reclaimed water used to water plants at work...I have them all over 1/2 my hood...and my left front fender. They WILL NOT come out...I have clay barred.....used Meguiars cleaner...reglazed and rewaxed....they are still there. I washed the car within 7 hours the water drying on my hood.

Any suggestions? I am about to go to my auto body shop buddy and ask him to use rubbing compound on it. This, to me, is really bad.

Default Vinegar and water bath will remove hard water spots. Try it.

I had a similar problem and it fixed it like magic!

Default How are you going to stick an S4 in a water bath?

I agree, use some vinegar and water or some other mild acidic solution. Chuck your claybar and rubbing compound. Your S4 is too new!

Acid (hydrochloric?) is what's sold at stores for cleaning hard water stains in bathrooms.
Andrew Lee

Default a brief lesson in acids...

vinegar is not hydrochloric acid. Hydrocloric acid is what is found in
your stomach to aid in the digestion of food. If you were to put
hyrdrochloric acid on french fries, well.. they would probably dissolve,
and you'd burn the inside of your mouth and esophagus.

vinegar is acetic acid. friendly, often overlooked and versatile chemical

Remember that before you take a bath with ANYTHING, you must lube the right parts.

Default Once you get them off, put a GOOD finish on it, I recommend Zanio, but others will also work.

And keep the finish current. That's the best protection you can do for water spots, insects, road grime, bird droppings, etc. That, and speed. My family has standing orders to remove things like bird dropping from any of our cars using whatever it takes, artical of clothing, drink, or even pee on it if that's all you have to get it off! ;-)

Clothes, etc., are cheap compared to fixing a damaged finish.
Jim De Arras

Default But no matter what you do the lube will wash away and friction will increase causing damage.
