Opinions / Theories Requested -- Loss of Power
Gang -
I've had my 2000 S4 for a few months & I'm having trouble tracking down a weird problem.
First, what I have: GIAC X chip, Borla exhaust, Bailey BPVs.
The problem: The car rips when engine temps are cold/cool. After a few full throttle pulls (engine warms up a bit?), I lose partial power. It feels like a boost leak, but I can't hear anything. The power drops off a bit, but not entirely (feels like a stock S4). Once the boost goes away (?), I don't get it back until the car cools down.
Observation: I shut off the car for a few minutes last night and allowed the throttle to re-adapt. I haven't validated this yet, but it seemed as though I got full boost back again... albeit briefly.
I slapped in the BPVs last weekend & they didn't help.
Thoughts? Theories? Opinions?? Bueller?

I would do some VAG logs
I would look at boost vs requested and most importantly MAF readings. If you don't have a VAG tool, ask on www.bostonaudi.org if someone who has one will help you run these logs.
