Most influential indeed: driving style. Other: motor oil. Fuel. Tires. Outside temperature. Length of trips. Load/aerodynamic drag (roof racks???). Automatic versus stick shift. Tire pressure or inflation. 220 miles per tank appears high to start with. My 50k miles experience on my S4: best ever was 480 miles per tank, steady 80 mph, engine hot/outside warm. Worst ever: track day, 150 miles on a tank. 170 miles a tank would trigger a thorough check if it were my car.

220 is definitely not reasonable, I get at least 300 at worst and that is with DC traffic. You must
be a lead foot or something. Or maybe it's the tip? ;-) Merry Christmas dood.

Re: 480!!!!! WOW thats a lot! 220 is reasonable coupled with city driving, and traffic.
480 miles was on one occasion: through Death Valley in January 2000, constant 80 mph because of a State Trooper following me for more than 300 out of those. No AC on, because it was cool enough. Synthetic oil (Mobil 1 15W50), 38 PSI all around. Worst was the track day, 150 miles on the tank. Average with long trips is around 280 to 320 miles on a tank, with city driving around 240 miles on a tank.
