Default Try your coolant temp sensor. Located under the intake accordion hose. The other option...

is that there is some foreign object in the cooling system blocking coolant flow. If the thermostat failed, it would 98% of the time fail open causing the car to run too cold, not too hot.

The sensor you are looking for is blue if its the older style or green if it's the new version.

Default Isn't that the wrong one?

That sensor only provides input to the ECM and the gauge, no?

Default That's correct. If it's providing the wrong info to the gauge, then our friend here...

will think he's overheating, but in reality it's just the gauge saying so, the car is actually running at correct temps.

If the water pump and t-stat are working correctly and he has the appropriate G12 coolant and that's flowing properly throughout the engine, then it shouldn't be overheating.

it has g12. it looks like the coolant hasnt moved thats why i think it is thermostat because it hasnt told that coolant to move through engine. anf its getting hot for sure

You won't see the coolant level change even when it's flowing through the engine.

They have now told me my thermostat works fine. they are saying my maine fan is not running sufficiently and he could stop it from rotating with his hand and in turn is not cooling the coolant when it returns from motor. causing coolant to get extremely hot within 10 minutes and really overheating danderously within 20. Hope hes right. Let yall know
