I recently ordered this CF spoiler for the M5.

The spoiler is pretty small in comparison to the ACS or Hamann ones...so it's pretty discrete.
What I wanted to do was paint the spoiler in TiSilver like my car but only with 1-2 layers. This way from a distance it'd look silver but up close you could still see the CF weave under the thin layer of silver paint. After talking to the body shop they said that they couldn't guarantee that they could paint the spoiler evenly so lightly. That is might appear blotchy in some places. If this happened, I would just go ahead and paint the spoiler to match the car.
I was told several B5 owners have done something similar to this, thus why I'm posting here.
When I placed the roof spoiler on the car it was hardly noticeable because of the dark tint from the rear window and it blended in from the other trim from the side windows and rear bumper. So I was thinking of just leaving it black. I know if I did paint it silver the contour would def stand out more. So I'm torn should I just leave the spoiler black or attempt the light silver paint and worst thing that could happen is I'd have to end up painting it all silver.
Here's a pic of the rear of a silver M5. (Not mine and imagine the arrows up by the top of the rear glass window)

P.S.
I also ordered some CF kidney grilles to replace the flat black ones.

Ok why would you buy these unless you wanted them to be seen as CF.....
The weight savings is probably nonexistent, so they are made to look good, to look like CF. No point in having them if you paint them to be unnoticed. Am I right?
