if you have working cats, then it should be no problem........
You can basically do your own IL emission test in about 10 seconds.
Hook up VAG, check readiness codes - if all say 'OK', you'll pass in IL.
If you have no cats, you will fail certain readiness codes and you'll fail.

I went and the guy asked "do you happen to know where your OBD port is?"
He got a surprised look when I pointed directly at it and said "right here". Probably not the answer he usually gets from the general masses.
