Perhaps this is just a bit of paranoia, but what does the "Dentist's Drill" noise indicate?!? (More)
I was driving home tonight, cooling the car down after some spirited driving.
I had all the windows up, and the radio off. As I was driving, I started to notice this vibration/buzz coming from the floor area. If I'm not mistaken, primarily from the passengers side. When I went from throttle, to off throttle...especially around 3-4k, the noise was most prominent.....after awhile of trying to figure out what it was, I started thinking....hmm....weird...it's sounds like the vibration of those little drills....
THen it hit me..."OH NO...don't tell me THIS is what the 'Dentist's Drill' noise sounds like".
Mind you at this point it is fairly subtle...just started, and it's loudest when coming off throttle, and easiest to hear with the windows up.
Could this be anything, or is it just a little paranoia?
Thanks!

That's not good. I would highly suggest you have it checked out. Run a diagnostic...
... with a VAG-COM too.
Also, is there a loss of power when you accelerate? Or only the dentist drill phenomenon?

I have the dentist drill...
She's ok. I checked with the VAG Tool and I'm getting the proper boost, but keep an eye on it and listen for the siren.
If it starts getting louder, it's about to go =)

Blown turbos don't vibrate
Sounds like you have two different problems. It is normal for you to be able to hear the turbos even if your windows are up and radio off at lower speeds. How many miles, are you chipped, and what oil do you use?
