exactly... aftermarket imo has been mostly marketing, getting car stiff and making you feel like you
are faster, while on track I got better numbers with stock in my VW.
ONLY IF, you goto Ohlins you might get something right.
I was looking into Stasis, and they mate the SAME Koni shocks to a wide range of springs and they call it "re-valed for Stassis"... I mean COME ON!
I had Koni Yellow adjustables and it was a bitch to find out the exact right compression/rebound setting right for the springs...
Mr. Eric Fletcher, instead of being a smart a$$ and having condesending and sarcastic language... might as well help with logical reasons why a particular suspension may or may not be right, instead of "aftermarket is better" based on what? their claim? yours? just cause it's lower=better? just cause it's stiffer? just cause I couldn't press the shocks down by hand, THEY WERE THAT STIFF! MUST BE GREAT!!!
I've been on vortex for the last 4 years and have gone through bilstein's, Koni, H&R, Shine, Neuspeed, Eibach, KW, FK... all had pros and cons, and NONE was perfectly tuned, I MEAN NONE!
Bilstein picks up EVERY freaking damn imprefection on the road and while it was great on track, for street it was unlivable, after hitting a big bump, it would get so stiff (auto-valving) that made the ride too bouncy and hard to handle.
So, just a shock drop-in is not gonna do it for me. If it wasn't for the fact that RS4 suspension may not sit right on S4, hence my request for pics, I would be all over that RS4 right now. Drove one in Australia and it WAS FREAKING GREAT!!!
