Default Pics for Deutschdriver, Others--> Rear caliper paint/pads/rotor job

For all those who wanted to check out some picks of my rear brakes through the install, here you go. If anyone is thinking about doing this, and would like any tips on what tools I used or products, just email me or post. Thanks, D

Oh, and my fronts are drying right now, I'll post picks when install is complete.

Default Looks nice! Here are my fronts from a couple months ago...

I did all similar type stuff. I did the backs too, but didn't photograph it.

https://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/1736491.phtml

Default Yep

I tested it on one of the spare decals just in case it reacted with it and caused it to shrivel, that's what happened with the brush on clear coat I had. D

Default Looks good Bob, looks like I used the same clear coat as you....

How are you finding that it's holding up? What type of black did you use? I used the G2 and noticed that after 24 hrs. it was still soft, so I had to touch up after installing the brake pads. I put some heat lamps on all fours tonight, I hope that helps it cure a little faster! Also after seeing you're pics, I kinda wish I would have been selective in my painting, I painted pretty much the entire calipers on the fronts, was a bitch trying to avoid the rubber boots. D

Default Its held up great. I did mine in the summer, so it was very warm out...

And dry, cause I'm in Cali. I let mine cure over night when I did it.

I used the G2.

Just like any painting, I spent more time on the prep and masking than I did actually painting.

I think I used 3 coats of the G2, and then 3 coats of clear.
