From everything I've read on here this seems like a pretty good deal -- I don't know why but I had somewhere in the area of 2K in my mind.

I got quoted $3000 from a few different shops to go from stage 2 to full stage 3 including clutch.

Default But beware, you usually get what you pay for. If they know it's a cheap quote...

it might be because they cut corners.

Default absolutely -- these guys actually left several of the euro dealerships and have established

a really good reputation in the area for servicing imports while also offering good prices. Because I'm trying to do the turbos/clutch/TBB/DV at the same time as the timing belt I asked what the timing belt service was stand-alone out of curosity and was told around $700.

I'm also planning on chipping the car. Should this be done after the upgrade to K04's or does it matter?

Default if you do chip after KO4's you need a 3- chip or fueling and stage 3 software..."homebrew" is

another option. KO4 plus stock turbos and stock fueling will run fairly stock like.

btw what shop is this that will do the tb- service for 700 (including parts?)

Book is 21 hours, IIRC. That's a killer deal.

Default i see what your saying. what do you mean by K04 plus stock turbos? (more inside)

I'm trying to avoid fueling primarly for budgetary reasons but definitely want a gain in performance.

The place where this instal would go down is Import Autohaus in Richmond. they have several locations. Interestingly, they told me they don't pull the engine when replacing either the turbos or the TB. Would that be a reason to worry/explain why labor is so low?
