From everything I've read on here this seems like a pretty good deal -- I don't know why but I had somewhere in the area of 2K in my mind.

absolutely -- these guys actually left several of the euro dealerships and have established
a really good reputation in the area for servicing imports while also offering good prices. Because I'm trying to do the turbos/clutch/TBB/DV at the same time as the timing belt I asked what the timing belt service was stand-alone out of curosity and was told around $700.
I'm also planning on chipping the car. Should this be done after the upgrade to K04's or does it matter?

if you do chip after KO4's you need a 3- chip or fueling and stage 3 software..."homebrew" is
another option. KO4 plus stock turbos and stock fueling will run fairly stock like.
btw what shop is this that will do the tb- service for 700 (including parts?)

i see what your saying. what do you mean by K04 plus stock turbos? (more inside)
I'm trying to avoid fueling primarly for budgetary reasons but definitely want a gain in performance.
The place where this instal would go down is Import Autohaus in Richmond. they have several locations. Interestingly, they told me they don't pull the engine when replacing either the turbos or the TB. Would that be a reason to worry/explain why labor is so low?
