Default Please help with the following codes (running rich)

My CEL came on as I pulled into the driveway today, I was wondering if anyone can tell me off the top of their head what is likely wrong before I go pay a mechanic, thank you very much in advance for any assistance offered:

Oh, the car is a 2000 6spd chipped with APR, and APR cat back.

Address 01: Engine

2 Faults Found:
17547 - Fuel Trim: Bank 2 (Add): System too rich
P 1139 -35 - 00--

17545 - Fuel Trim: Bank 1 (Add): System too rich
P1137 - 35 - 00--
Readiness: 0000 0000

Thanks again,

Mark

Default get vag-com back on

go to engine-->meas blocks-->choose block 032

these 4 values are your long term fuel adaptations. report back and note (+/-)%

Default if you don't have vag-com, do pressure test

if you don't have a pressure tester... hunt someone down.

Default I have the numbers..

First of all thank you for your prompt response.

I went Autoscan -> measuring blocks -> typed in 032 and then hit "go"

heres what I got:
Adaptation (idle) bank 1 sensor 1 (-8.6%)

Adaptation (partial) bank 1 sensor 1 (-10.2%)

Adaptation (Idle) bank 2 sensor 1 (-9.9%)
(for this one, a little bubble popped up and said "range -25 to +25%, but -4% to +4% was proper)

Adaptation (partial) bank 2 sensor 1 (-7.8%)

After doing this with just the ignition on, I started up the car and the numbers didn't change if that means anything.

Thank you!

Mark

Default well, couple things you could do here

you *may* have a boost leak. heard anything out of the normal lately? i would strongly suggest doing an intake pressure test (awe sells them if you need). idle fuel corrections like that are suggestive of a vacuum leak.

if that doesn't unveil anything, you could do some data logging on the primary o2's. block 30 i think.

also wouldn't hurt to check to see if you air filter is clean, and mass air sensor is functioning properly (block 003 for MAF).

Default Re: well, couple things you could do here

Thank you very much, I will try all of the above.

I do have the dreaded F-hose and I have never replaced it (I have a solid unit from VAST but haven't installed it yet). Is that a possible culprit? Also I have a SAMCO TBB and I will have a look at that.

Is the car safe to drive in the mean time would you think?

Thanks again,

Mark

Default Oh, and no, I haven't heard anything abnormal lately.....

The code just came on after my drive home from school as I pulled into my driveway at like 1km/h.

Default it's kind of tough to troubleshoot

kind of have to make a list and check stuff off. i forgot to add, engine coolant temp sensor can also cause rich codes, amongst other things. there is really a lot of things it could be, i'm trying to pick out some common causes. data logging can unveil some of these, if you know someone local experienced with APR ECUx, track them down if they are willing.

as for safety to drive, your fuel trims aren't maxxed or anything. i would be more concerned with lean codes for drivability. either way, get it figrued out soon. hopefully some other guys will chime in here.

wouldn't hurt to give APR a call.
