Default After putting fans on I kept the drivers side but chose to take of the pass side so the
fan fits flush against the front of the ic

Default if carefully managed airflow is good...unrestricted and chaotic airflow must be better!

i must be right!!!!!
actually thats why i asked......but i can;t help but feel they are blocking the IC's just a little bit. thanks for the response.

Default IC shrouds are essential for IC performance.
Air will ALWAYS take the path of least resistance. You NEED those shrouds on there to force the air through them or the air (at least most of it) will go around the intercoolers because that is the path of least resistance.
