I took a tech from my dealership for a ride in my car today to confirm that my second gear synchro was out (1-2 upshifts and 3-2 downshifts cause grinding at high rpms). They're going to contact Audi to see if they want to replace my entire transmission or rebuild the transmission after getting synchros from Germany (the dealership doesn't keep these parts on hand). For people who had their transmissions replaced, how long did it take? I've heard 2-4 weeks to get synchros fixed mostly because of ordering parts from Germany. TIA!

5 weeks, but same **** parts go in that broke, not upgraded

They said it was going, they ordered me a complete new tranny. Two weeks later right before my car was scheduled to go in...my right side turbo blew (again), so I got both replaced at the same time. Took 4 days. I was seriously impressed.

All in all mine took about 37 days. I got Audi to pay for one months payment because the dealer had the car so long. My parts were on backorder though so that time frame may be longer than normal.

Dunno if it was for synchros tho, the thing was making a horrible winding metallic grinding noise.

Replaced at about 800 miles on the car.
