Default Pop or Click from Clutch Pedal

Greetings,
After viewing the archives, I was wondering if anyone else had a similar problem, and what was the resolution. The click is most noticable when you release the pedal slowly (car not in gear/car is off). I know for a fact that its not the clutch kill switch.

The first suggestion is to check the return spring mounted under the steering column. Please let me know if you have the part number"s".

I will be checking out the spring tonight.

My first original impression was one of the fingers on the pressure plate was broken.

Please provide insite and recommendations.
Thanks,
James

Had the same issue with 996tt, ended up being the throw-out bearing.

It made feeling the engagement point almost impossible. Remember all my bitching about that clutch?

Default Like doc I agree it is most likely the TB, it can make noise when you start to add pressure

by pushing the fingers in.

Default Thanks for the Replys

Hello,
I'm going to check the spring tonight, and if its fine then I guess I'll be in the market for a clutch assy. Oh JOY!

I just wish this could have happened after I finished restoring the '67 Bug.

Once again, thank you. I'll post results tomorrow.

Default there is a clutch return spring that could be broken also.

remove the kick panel and check to see if it's broken.

If it was broken wouldn't that mean the pedal would stay at the floor?
