Praise For Stratmosphere
I finally decided to take the plunge and order a chip for my car. I'm not like most of you on the board, in that buying a chip was a major decision for me (not that the rest of you take it lightly, just that this is the first car I've ever modified from stock & I was pretty hesitant).
Anyway, I decided to go with an ABT chip from Stratmosphere initially because of their relationship with Audi. However, after talking with Bob, I'm even more sure of my decision due to the obvious level of enthusiam and knowledge he displayed. All the things I've read about Bob/Stratmosphere seem to be true -- they're real professionals.
I just wanted to drop a note about my experience, as we all seem to show no hesitation when a company treats us poorly (including myslef), but we don't always let everyone know about a positive experience.
They had an "M" ECU box in stock, already chipped and they were able to overnight it to me. That's pretty good service!
BTW, Bob told me two things I didn't know (maybe the rest of you did, but they were news to me):
1. ABT is not pronounced by the initials, it's pronounced "AH-BT" -- sort of like the word "opt".
2. The owner of ABT is married to Ferdinand Piech's daughter (now that's a good relationship to have!).
Anyway, thanks to everyone who helped me with my decision.
