Problem with ignition--intermittent starting
I'm finding my manual 2001 S4 Avant no longer starts up consistently. Sometimes I push in the clutch turn the key and nothing--nothing turns over and the car seems completely dead (although the instrument panel lights up). Usually after 3-6 times it fires right up.
I replaced the battery and then had the ignition switch replaced by the dealer ($320--ouch) but it's still doing it. My theory is that it might be a sensor connected to the clutch pedal as it operates just like when the clutch isn't depressed.
Any ideas out there?
