<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/113875/diagram.jpg"></center><p>I'd like to clean up my spider hose and install a catch can. I've read through previous posts about installations people have done. The stock configuration is to have the N75 solenoid connected to the PCV spider hose next to the right cylinder head connection.

Are there any issues with disconnecting that and allowing the hose on N75 to be exposed to the atmosphere like recommended in the link below? It seems that N75 just needs atmospheric pressure in that hose to properly control the wastegates. So why did they connect it to the oily PCV system in the first place?

And if it's really fine to vent it, does anybody recommend a screen or filter over the end of the hose to N75 to keep dirt/dust out?

Does the diagram above look like it'd work? Thoughts?

I ran mine like that for a short period of time when troubleshooting a boost issue without problems.
