Default Pulling The Alternator

How hard is it and is there anyone that can do it in my garage...valley forge pa

Not too bad. Put the lock carrier in the maintenance position, remove the belt, pull out a couple bolts, remove the passenger side IC hose for access, remove the ground and wire clip from the rear of the alternator, and wiggle it out. Putting in a new one is the tougher part since sometimes the bracket on the new alternator needs to be ground down a bit to fit. And don't forget to swap the pulley if needed.

Lots of alternators going out right now....I think I better start putting some money in the swear jar...

Default Another one bites the dust - SCCA PDX Summit Point killed mine

Battery light came on in last session. Pulled in and idled to cool down. Battery voltage at idle was 15V and climbing. Disconnected the starter and alternator line from the battery terminal and zip-tied the ECU/ignition line to the battery post to limp home. Recommend driving in daylight as the HIDs will kill the battery as fast as the ignition drain.
